Not Who You Are
One thing we’ve always told our three student-athlete kids is “your sport is something you do, not who you are.”
Funny how we forget that as adults.
I’ve spent much of my career in and around the ski industry — “Mike the Ski Guy.” It’s a badge I’ve worn proudly. Skiing gave me purpose, connection, and a path.
But here’s what most don’t know: that’s now just one slice of what I do.
In recent years, I’ve expanded far beyond that world — across travel, outdoor, fashion, food, lodging, and tech. I’ve helped build brands, lead strategy, and bring curiosity and creativity into every project.
My goal? Don’t get stuck in one box.
Not just a skier.
Not just a marketer.
I’m evolving — like we all should be.
Does your job define who you are?
And does it need to?
