I Identify As This Jacket

I identify as this…JACKET!

Certain products do more than perform. They change how you feel about yourself.

A new pair of running shoes can be the nudge that gets you out the door and stacking miles. A board, a bike, a jacket. Sometimes it is the spark that pulls you deeper into something you love.

For me, it was the Marmot 3 Layer Gore Tex shell. The yellow and red one Doug Coombs wore in the 90’s. I remember saving up, finally getting my hands on it, and instantly feeling like an absolute badass. That jacket did not just keep me dry. I genuinely believe it helped pull me into backcountry skiing.

We still have it in the gear closet. I refuse to let it go.

It is wild to think how much a single product can influence your confidence, your identity, and even the path you take. Makes me wonder. Was it the jacket. Was it Doug Coombs. Or was it the combination of both?
